Tuamarina Memorial, Marlborough |
|
Location
Tuamarina Cemetery, Marlborough
History
This memorial was originally to be unveiled on Empire Day 1904 (25th May). Due
to inclement weather this was delayed until 3rd June. The memorial
was raised by public subscription at a cost of just over £206.
Its location commands one of the more spectacular views for a Boer War memorial
overlooking, as it does, the Wairau valley out to the coast.
